Timber-Seal is specifically formulated to repel all types
of water ingress. Timber-Seal also isolates oil and acid
components of the wood fiber from contact with moisture,
thus reducing acceleration of the aging process.
Application
Timber-Seal is for use in sealing unsealed, pressure-treated
and previously stained wood surfaces. The treatment is semi-permanent
therefore the surface to be treated must first be prepared
to the desired quality. Once applied, the finished product
will enhance the texture and grain of the wood surface.
Timber-Seal is not a cleaner. Do not seal
in impurities or stains. In order to acquire the best possible
results, first clean the surface to the desired standard
( we recommend using a wood cleaner such as BCI's "Timber-Brite" product
to quickly and effectively remove stains, mildew and other
unsightly deposits ), then protect the wood with Timber-Seal.
Wood surfaces should be free from any surface accumulations
of dust, oil, grease, discoloration, paint, protective sealers
and/or foreign materials prior to application of Timber-Seal.
- On wood surfaces that have oil based stains or transparent
wood coatings, first utilize a treatment that removes the
pigment, water sealers and damaged wood fiber from exterior
wood decks, siding or log home surfaces and restore them
to their natural color.
- On heavily grayed and weathered wood surfaces, first
utilize a treatment that will remove tannin bleeding, water
stains, mildew, mould and discolored surface fiber and
return it to its natural color.
The rate of application is 150 feet per gallon. Timber-Seal
can be applied to vertical or horizontal surfaces, in interior
or exterior locations. The product's flash point is in excess
of 320 o F and is self-extinguishing. Timber-Seal will cure
out in 24 hours. Acid rain, de-icing salts and dirt will
not stain the treated surface.
