LMP is an asphalt polymer designed to rejuvenate,
strengthen and waterproof asphalt materials used in the repair
and overlay of asphalt or concrete roadway surfaces. It functions
as a both a bonding compound/primer and sealer. LMP improves
the strength of newly placed asphalt mix, waterproofs the
asphalt or concrete surface being repaired or overlaid, and
increases the durability of the repair or overlay. LMP is
ideally suited for use in pothole repair and maintenance,
reducing costs by minimizing preparation time and extending
the life of the repair.
LMP allows patching and repair in climates and conditions
where normal patching procedures fail to produce desired
results. The product tolerates surface wetness and can be
used in temperatures of 35 degrees F and above. LMP can be
applied using hand-held sprayers or brooms for smaller jobs,
or truck-mounted spray bars for overlays. Asphalt treated
with LMP can be stripped using non-water-based lane stripping
paints. Repairs using LMP are immediately traffic ready and
minimal tracking will occur. LMP-treated asphalt is fully
recyclable.
LMP is ideally suited for use in pothole repair and maintenance,
reducing costs by minimizing preparation time and extending
the life of the repair. Damp surfaces will not interfere
with LMP. This high-performance primer does not require perfect
preparation techniques and drying of the pothole is not necessary.
Potholes require only marginal preparation, namely removal
of deep compacted dirt, coarse contaminant debris and standing
water or ice. LMP is then sprayer applied and broomed in
to ensure contact with sound material. Apply enough product
to obtain surface wet-out. Conventional asphalt mix is then
placed in the pothole and tamped/compacted. The surface of
the repair is then sprayed with LMP to waterproof the patched
surface, thus preventing water ingress and freeze/thaw blow
out.
Features
- Will penetrate asphalt mixes so that the mix is waterproof
and strengthened.
- Surfaces to be primed, either asphalt or concrete need
not be totally dry before application.
- Can be used in temperatures of 35 degrees F and above.
- Bonding strength allows for a thinner overlay top course.
- Pothole preparation can be accomplished with high-pressure
air to blow out deep compacted dirt, course contaminant
debris and standing water or ice.
- Traffic can immediately drive on the repaired patches
without damage or major tracking.
- Product is non-flammable.
